..."Red" (King of
Reds) my T.B., ex 5 furlong sprinter and covering stallion, "retired" to
endurance in 1997. He has been fed on Equilibra for two years as other feed
balancers blew his mind. He was 80-100 mile fit in June 2000, when a serious injury
to me put us out of action for 4 months - during which time Red was fed 500gms of
Equilibra a day plus forage and had a full 11 weeks off work.
After 6 weeks steady work
he has been able to compete a 60 mile endurance race at an average speed of 10 miles per
hour - recording 3rd place and the Blue-Chip "Best Condition Award" at the end
of the race.
I attribute my
success not only to Equilibra but the inclusion, also, of Energest whilst in hard work and
during veterinary "holds" during the race as I was conscious of definite energy
boosts 20-30 minutes after feeding. When offering associated feeds at vet gates,
Red's choice was both Equilibra and Energest every time.
He stays bright
and attentive before, during and after the race and is wonderfully well the next day.
