...Thank you for all your support this Season and for supporting me when I lost
crimson Skye and broke my leg.
I have had the most amazing season this year.
Eskar my 7yo pure bred Arab has achieved things that I thought weren't possible
of a horse of his age. We did the tough 160km at Cirencester in June and
finished 4th and got best condition. Foot and mouth curtailed the rest of our
season but we did manage to compete several times and gained another best
condition award at Firle Park 2 day ride.
We finished the season at one of the
toughest rides in Europe - the 196km 2 day FEI 3 star ride Les 2 Jours de Montcuq.
It is held in the South of France and getting there was a test of Endurance - it
was 815 miles(26hours) plus a ferry trip door to door. Eskar arrived in France
looking like he had only traveled a few miles down the road. We finished 16th
and had several of the French wanting to buy him as he is one of the few 160km
Qualified 7yo in the world. He has finished the season 194th on the FEI world
endurance combination rankings.
Last weekend I went to the EGB annual awards and
we picked up several awards there. We were awarded the best Arab Trophy were
second in the Senior trophy, third in best Graded trophy (and were the best one
day graded horse) and were Reserve Supreme Champion - 27 points behind the winner
(I choose to go to France rather than do the last ride of the EGB season) and
apart from the top 4 horses we were several hundreds of points above all the
other EGB horses.
We are now back on the Senior Squad as a combination and our
first team assessment is at the beginning of February. Next season I shall have
four horses belonging to me out competing. Eskar and Connie (who also had a
good season and is aimed at the 160km Golden Horseshoe class next year) and my
2 new novices Yawl Hillbilly my Stallion and Ishtar Spirit a 4yo PBA mare who
will be ridden by my young rider Stevie Jones.
Throughout the season all the
horses have looked well and maintained a good condition and I put the 2 best
Condition awards down to
training/feeding regime. The GWF Nutrition
Feeds range has given him the energy
to go that extra mile and look great throughout and at the end.
Thanks again for your support.
