Landside Music Lord’s owner is Anne James. Anne has been breeding Morgans for nearly 30 years.
Tim Northcott (that’s me) has had the pleasure of riding and showing Lord for the past 3 years.
We (Landside Morgans www.landside-morgans.co.uk) are based in Leigh in Lancashire and have around 25 Morgan horses on the farm.
Lord is a purebred Morgan stallion registered with the British Morgan Horse Society. He has been using Fibregest, Equilibra and Joint aid since the beginning of August this year.
I can’t say that he wasn’t in good condition before changing his diet to GWF Nutrition but can say that since the change there has been a very noticeable difference in his coat, topline and muscle definition. All the other horses at Landside that are on the food have bloomed since using your food.
Since August, Lord has gone on this year to win European Morgan Horse Grand In Hand Champion, Reserve European Grand Saddle champion and overall points winner for the year in the Best Condition over 138cm division at our Local riding Club (Abram Hall).
The European Reserve Grand In Hand Champion (Monnington Aspire) and Grand Saddle Champion (Monninton Unique) also live at Landside and started using your food at the same time as Lord!
As overall points winners with Lord, we were invited to show at the Festival of Champions Show at Valiants Equestrian Centre in Preston on Sunday 18th October in the Best Condition over 138cm. Champion and Reserve champions from riding clubs all over the north west compete in the show.
There were 2 main judges in the ring. I was expecting to answer the usual stock questions from the judges such as ‘how old?’ or ‘what do you do with him?’ One of the lady judges just walked around him staring, mouth agape (and smiling at the same time if you can picture it) and was lost for words. After winning the rosette and sash, I was interviewed in the arena and asked how I managed to get Lord in great condition with such a gleaming coat. My answer was a good diet (I couldn’t name the brand as it was sponsored by a competitor), plenty of exercise and excellent grooming by my wife Clare!
He went on to win reserve section champion from 10 entrants. We’re showing him at the same show on 31st October in the non-British class – I will keep you posted.
