Marketing Assistants

As the Marketing Assistant you will support the Marketing Manager with a range of responsibilities, including helping to create, deliver and measure the company’s multichannel marketing plan. You will provide administrative support to the marketing team, attend events as required and help to deliver day to day marketing communications through a variety of channels. This role will report directly to the Marketing Manager.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Contributing to content planning according to overall marketing objectives
  • Creating engaging content across a variety of media in line with the agreed plan
  • Creating and testing email campaigns
  • Undertaking off-site link building activities
  • Website updates including stockist list, product updates and maintaining FAQ’s
  • Print advertising duties including media analysis and bookings
  • Assisting with proofreading including for packaging reprints
  • Managing stocks of print materials and booking in reprints
  • Assisting with monthly reporting
  • Organising and participating in the company’s trade show attendance across the year
  • Maintaining brand ambassador relationships and records
  • Dealing with social media customer service queries
  • Fulfilment of customer orders through Shopify
  • Act as a second line of administrative support to the main office when required

Skills and Experience Required

Essential

  • Experience of working within an organisation’s branding guidelines and an understanding of core marketing theory
  • A superb standard of written English
  • Experience of creating content for a variety of social media & digital platforms, including Meta and Instagram
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Highly organised and able to multi-task
  • A good eye for design
  • A working knowledge of MS Excel
  • A can-do attitude and an eagerness to contribute ideas and learn

Preferable

CIM or equivalent marketing qualification preferred

  • Knowledge of CRM/EM systems including SAGE, Shopify & MailChimp
  • Experience in the pet or equine industries
  • Experience of utilising AI systems to support the marketing effort
  • Experience of dealing with external agencies including media buying and print work
  • Good numeracy

Desirable

  • Experience of using a graphic design package such as PhotoShop or Corel

Purchase Ledger Clerk

Responsibilities will include:

  • Assist in month-end and year end closing process by providing accurate and organised data.
  • Generate and maintain reports to accounts payable and accounts receivable.
  • Process and record purchase invoices and maintaining supplier accounts.
  • Verify and reconcile supplier statements to ensure accuracy of accounts payable.
  • Dealing with Supplier account queries efficiently and resolve any discrepancies that may arise proactively ensuring compliance to business procedures.
  • Prepare payment runs in line with supplier credit terms for authorisation from the company accountant.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to ensure purchase order reconciliation, goods received and approval of invoices.
  • Processing and reconciling employee charge card expenses.
  • Managing order requirements stationery and refreshments.
  • Aged Debtors and Credit Control.
  • Maintain requisition, ledger analysis and correspondence up to date on excel.
  • Be a reliant team player in goal congruence amongst the department taking on ad hoc tasks/projects as required by Line Manager. 
  • Support sickness, leave and other staff shortages within the team.
  • Basic administration duties (filing, recording and maintenance) to ensure the department remains auditable, organised, and serviceable for all users at all times.
